SUMMARY:May 2026 Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Sandra Lindal will present “Confessions of a Scrapaholic”. \n\n\nSandy\, a former pattern maker/stylist and clothing manufacturer\, found her passion when she discovered quilting. She quickly developed her skills into a thriving long-arm quilting business. \n\n\nSandy’s trunk show called “Confessions of a Scrapaholic” will take you through a light-hearted journey of quilting with friends and features approximately 45 quilts. She is currently working on a series of quilts and workshops attempting to modernize old stash. This is a very popular concept with guilds and quilters alike\, as we all have too much old stash. Sandy loves to encourage quilters to use up and think about their stash in a whole new way. \n\n\nDuring covid she ventured out and added BOM Designer to her portfolio and has two guild run BOM programs on the market. \n\n\nThis past summer Sandy had a sold-out trunk show at Quilt Canada\, which confirms her belief that many quilters want to win the stash battle! \nWebsite \n\nEtsy \nInstagram \nScreenshot

SUMMARY:June 2026 Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Indigo Dyeing Workshop \nJulie Sinden will lead us in the Indigo Dyeing Using Clay Resist Workshop. \nIndigo dyeing is the only natural source of colourfast true blue. All materials will be supplied.  We will begin by learning the history and “how to” of this magical dye plant and discuss the different types of indigo vats and how to choose which one is best for a project. The clay paste will be mixed in advance\, and you will apply it to your cloth using brushes\, stencils and stamps.  All items will be dyed in organic fructose vats which will be created in advance for us. The clay paste will act as a resist\, resulting in gorgeous patterns of white and blue. \nThe instructor will provide each participant with four fat quarters of Kona Cotton for dyeing. \nJulie Sinden is a textile artist and small business owner based in Toronto (but originally from Port Ryerse!). Julie’s passion for indigo dyeing will become obvious in this workshop. \nDate: Wednesday\, June 3\, 2025\, 9:00 a.m. to between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. The location will be provided to registrants. \nMaximum number of participants: 12 \nMinimum number of participants: 4 \nRegistration Fee: members $75.00\, non-members $85.00
