October 2026 – Fall/Winter Workshop

It’s that time of year again. Time to clean up the yard, put away the summer furniture and start thinking about those sewing machines. Yes…it’s time for our Fall/Winter Workshop. Are you ready

Session No. 1 (morning) Guild member, Cheryl Vandenberg, will lead our half day workshop in creating a beautiful, vinyl mesh tote bag. It is perfect for groceries, general errands or a day at the beach, functional, sturdy and well sized. Besides being stylish, there is no lining, zippers or snaps to fuss over and edges are easily bound with homemade binding, just like a quilt is. Easy Peasy! This project is perfect for a domestic machine. A full supply list will be provided well in advance of the workshop, to allow participants ample time to complete their shopping.

Session No. 2 (afternoon) Guild member, Joan Davidson, will lead us in creating a placemat using the same method as a Jelly-Roll rug. Make your creation as colourful as you want, to keep, to gift or to donate. Guaranteed to be uniquely yours?

Participants will register for the whole day and can attend both sessions. Or, you can make a bag in the morning and work on their own project in the afternoon. Or, work on their own project in the morning and make a placemat in the afternoon
