Elizabeth (Liz) Klassen’s presentation is “One Stitch at a Time”. The Mennonite Central Committee story outlines the difference that support had for both my family and my husband’s.
A journey of quilting – from my grandmother’s quilt to me, through to my quilts for my grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario.
Liz made her first quilt in 1980. She states: “Quilts and quilting have been a part of my life with both my grandmothers and mother-in-law being quilters”.
She retired from formal employment in 2022, with her nursing career spanning over 40 years, in mental health and long-term care.
Liz became the Chair of the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale (NHMRS) quilt committee in 2022.
