Brita the Questioning Quilter Presentation at February Meeting

Please join us on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. using the Zoom app.

Brita Nelson will be presenting “Now You See It, Now You Don’t. The Magic of Disappearing Blocks”. Learn about the magic and beauty of disappearing blocks with this interactive online lecture, demo, and trunk show. Using three cameras, Brita will show how easy it is to turn simple blocks into beautiful complex patterns. She will show how different block designs can be enhanced by color choices or slight modifications to make even more interesting full quilts.

Brita started quilting when her daughter was born as she took a few years off to be a stay-at-home mom. Aside from sewing baby clothes, she took to quilting to stay sane. Brita made a queen size quilt using an old Singer sewing machine her parents gave her when she went away to college. Once that was done, Brita was making quilts for all her friends and relatives whether they wanted them or not. When Brita and family moved, she and a friend checked out the local quilt guild. And, she became energized and started quilting in earnest again. When Brita retired from work, she moved back to Pennsylvania and devoted herself to serious quilting and sharing this passion which has given her so much joy.

Zoom link will be sent a few days before the meeting.
