Denise Eighteen Presentation at June Meeting

Please join us on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.

Member, Denise Eighteen, will present a “Trunk Show of Modern and Fibre Art Quilts”.

Denise’s love for decorative arts can be seen in all facets of her life, but it is especially evident in her personal surroundings. “Colour makes me happy and immersing myself in art is where I find my true self. Dreaming of colour, texture and design, while planning how to execute an idea is just as satisfying as the resulting art itself.”

Denise’s current work focuses on Art Quilting, incorporating different elements of surface design: fabric painting, appliqué, felting and decorative stitch.

                                            Our First Hybrid Meeting

Well, we finally have an answer to the question many of you have been asking since March of 2020 … When are going to be meeting together again?

On June 7, 2022, we will be hosting our first (of hopefully many) Hybrid Meeting!

What is a Hybrid Meeting? A Hybrid Meeting is one which can be ‘attended’ in two ways. Members can attend the “Zoom” format that we have been using for the past two years, or they can attend the in-person meeting. Both meetings will be held simultaneously.

Anything that takes place will be shared with those at the Zoom meeting and at the in-person meeting. That includes any Executive Members who speak, the Guest Speaker (if she/he attends in-person), and any Power Point Presentations. If the Guest Speaker attends remotely via Zoom, then the electronic presentation will be projected onto a screen at the in-person meeting.

Members who attend either format should experience the same meeting. The only difference will be whether you attend at a hall or attend in your home on Zoom. We see it as a win-win! Each of us will attend the meeting which best suits our own needs, and those travelling will still be able to attend on Zoom!

Your Zoom experience should be very similar to what we have been doing for the past two years.

Your in-person experience will be different though, as your Executive and Program Committee work to keep all of us safe and healthy. In the next few days, you will be receiving some of the new practices and procedures for our in-person meetings. Please read these carefully. If you have any questions, we encourage you to contact a member of the Executive for further explanation.

Whatever way you choose to attend, we are all looking forward to ‘seeing you’ at our final guild meeting for the 2021/2022 year.

On June 7th the in-person meeting will be held at the Port Dover Community Centre. Or you may choose to attend Zoom.

Zoom link will be sent a few days before the meeting.
